25/06/2014 · I know that the right way to do this would be to use and annular cutter to reduce the barrel OD before threading I just wanted to know if anyone had successfully threaded their Saiga barrel using just the die without reducing the barrel OD first
Cutting the Barrel OD to Size If your barrel has to be cut down before threading, there are a number of ways to get this done The most appropriate way would be to turn it on a lathe But this involves completely removing the barrel from the gun and probably removing all hardware that is attached to the barrel That, in itself, is enough to make most builders choose another way (even those who

06/01/2015 · How accurate are annular cutters for hole making? Say you buy a 3/4" cutter, are they like an endmill where it will be 3/4" or is there some tolerance on that dimension? Then lets say that it is indeed 750" diameter, how over sized is it expected the hole to be? This will be used in a milling machine, cutter held in a collet and going through

18/03/2016 · The barrel aft of the FSB is thicker If you're going 14X1 mm, you'll need an annular cutter, to get the od down to the right size, for the die to cut the threads centered I recently did my first threaded mb/fh and found out the hard way Luckily, my rifle that came to me pre-cut, was long enough for me to cut off the first off-center
